Location: El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM

In this crucial role, you'll actively engage the community in pro-life initiatives and connect organizations and leaders with opportunities to contribute to the important goal of reducing and ultimately eliminating the local demand for abortion services.
The Company
Southwest Coalition, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation focused on restoring reverence for the sanctity of human life and natural womanhood across the Southwest through a coalition of nonprofit social enterprises in line with Catholic and Biblical teaching, including our Guiding Star Southwest women’s medical centers, The Lily Pad Maternity Home, our Her Care Connection outreach and mobile medical bus, and Coalition for Life ministries.

Job Summary:
The Outreach Assistant will support our organization by coordinating and executing benefit dinners, managing logistics, and leading volunteer teams. This role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication in both English and Spanish, and the ability to manage budgets and expenses. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, travel between our Las Cruces and El Paso offices as needed, and engage with the community in a professional and joyful manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Coordination:
- Organize and oversee benefit dinners, including setup, decor, and logistics.
- Prepare decor boxes for each table and ensure all materials are available for events.
- Accept and process benefit dinner requests from churches and organizations, liaising with their personnel for logistical arrangements.
- Participate in events for the Coalition that include tabling, set-up, tear-down, prepping and delegating.
Volunteer Management:
- Lead and coordinate volunteer teams for events ranging from March for Life, Benefit Dinners and other community events that serve to enhance and engage people in the Pro-Life community.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to volunteers to ensure smooth event execution.
Community Engagement:
- Work with churches, schools, and universities to promote events and foster community engagement.
- Answer questions from the community in a professional and joyful tone.
- Work with city officials and community leaders to secure permits and notify them of events requiring city permits.
- Coordinate tabling efforts at events by receiving and processing requests, and communicating with relevant departments for attendance
- Network with community partners to spread awareness about our organization and the services it provides.
Communication and Coordination:
- Coordinate speaker itineraries, ensuring all logistics are covered for event speakers.
- Maintain open lines of communication with community members, organizations, and internal departments to include Marketing, Finance and Operations.
- Must have good people skills to effectively engage and communicate with volunteers, community partners, and contracting persons/organizations
Budget Management:
- Work within predetermined budgets for events.
- Submit invoices and receipts in a timely manner for financial tracking and reimbursement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Must be a professed, faithful, and engaged Christian
- Must be passionately pro-life, exhibiting a reverence for life at all ages from conception to a natural death
- Agrees with and is willing to uphold and adhere to the foundational principles in accordance with our Faith and Values agreement
- A strong commitment to the Culture of Life and personal sanctification.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in event coordination and volunteer management.
- Ability to work with budgets and handle financial documentation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to attend events and travel between Las Cruces and El Paso offices as needed.

- Practical requirements such as reliable transportation, competence in reading and writing (fluent in English and Spanish strongly preferred), and the ability to use apps on a mobile device.
- A team player mentality, following directions accurately and thoroughly, with excellent teamwork and conflict resolution skills.
- Punctual arrival for shifts and duties.
- Physical stamina, including the ability to lift at least 40 lbs. and endure standing for long periods.
